Lillios receives OAC Individual Artist Grant

Elainie Lillios (Associate Professor of Composition) received a 2011 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award for her creative work. The Individual Excellence Awards program provides grants to Ohio artists for the exceptional merit of a completed body of work. These awards recognize creativity and imagination that exemplify the highest level of achievement and advancement of the art form for a particular discipline. Lillios was awarded in the interdisciplinary/performance art category, with submissions including her recent pieces “Nostalgic Visions” for piano and live, interactive electroacoustics (commissioned by BGSU faculty member Thomas Rosenkranz) and “2BTextures”, an experimental animation with electroacoustic music that she created collaboratively with BGSU faculty member/digital artist Bonnie Mitchell.
