The World’s Most Popular Traveling Destinations

The graphic above represents data of the World’s Most Popular Traveling Destinations from 1995-2018. This chart displays the tourism trends that occurred over the course of years.

First, as we can see France has been the top traveling destination since 1995. Specifically, the most visited places of France include Disneyland Paris, The Eiffel Tower, and the Palace of Versailles. The United States and Spain are also apart of the Top 3 traveling destinations however over the years they have came in 2nd and 3rd place and have switched places consistently.

Hence, all of of the countries listed on the chart are listed due to tourism ventures. These ventures are not only for leisure but are also in compliance to business, health, and or other reasons. It is apparent that both internationally an domestic traveling have became extremely popular globally. Within these years the hotel industry as well as the airline industry have had major growth. According to data presented by Statista the airline industry alone reached “472 billion in U.S dollars in 2021. ” (S. Lock, 2022).

However, it is visible that data comes to end after 2018, and this is due to the impact of Covid-19. Once this hit, the tourism industry as a whole was severely impacted and abolished the idea of travelling. Covid-19 also affected popular travel agencies including Booking Holdings and Expedia causing both companies to have over a 50 percent drop in sales.

The Importance of The Divine 9

The National Pan-Hellenic Council is a group of Black Greek lettered Fraternities and Sororities also known as the “Divine 9”. The organization includes Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Each of these black organizations went through a period of time where they were denied essential rights and privileges. During this time there was racial isolation on predominately white campuses. This forced African Americans to align themselves with others who followed the same beliefs and values. Years later, the NPHC has existed to council all of the 9 Black Greek lettered organizations.

Each of these organizations hold fraternity and sorority chapters at most colleges and universities. Specifically, I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Incorporated the Iota Iota Chapter. Our chapter serves the campus of Bowling Green State University and the Bowling Green community. Within my chapter we aim to achieve high scholastic and ethical standards and to be service to all mankind. Previously, the Illustrious Iota Iota chapter held community trash clean-ups, donation drives to local organizations, and many more events throughout the school semesters. We strive to help and be an impact within our community.

Included in the ThinkLink Image is a picture of the Iota Iota chapter in BGSU’s Bowen Thompson Student Union. Within this image the ladies in the chapter are pictured at their Black History Month Event during union tables.
