Comments(0) A Dagwood’s Sandwich Shoppe is scheduled to open this summer at the San Marco Plaza in Lakewood Ranch, the first of its kind in this region. The chain — using a concept conceived of by second-generation “Blondie” illustrator and writer Dean Young — has opened three restaurants, all in Florida. Four more, including the San Marco site, are expected to open this summer. The aim is for 50 restaurants by year’s end. Steve Kreesevich is the “market partner” for the Southwest Florida territory, which stretches from Naples to Bradenton. –Staff Report
