Comments(5) Starting from biblical times, the small volume condenses the entire history of the Jewish people into a few pages of illustrations, with the majority of the work focused on the recent epoch in which the modern state of Israel was created. While this abbreviated account might offend the sensibilities of some religious scholars, it reveals, practically at a glance, the historical connection of Jews to the Holy Land and the basis for Zionism. –Alan Smason
