BGSU Firelands College Theatre Receives Accolades

Huron, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Firelands College Theatre program recently received several accolades through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for their recent production of “Gruesome Playground Injuries.”
The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival is an organization which encourages, recognizes, and celebrates the finest and most diverse work produced in university and college theatre programs throughout the country.
Cast and crew of the “Gruesome Playground Injuries” production have been invited to perform at the 2015 Regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s Fringe Program. The Festival will be held from January 2-6 at Cleveland State University.
Several of the BGSU Firelands student performers in “Gruesome Playground Injuries” have also been nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship which is awarded through the Festival. Nominees are required to provide performances for evaluations at the regional level festival and can be selected to move forward in the competition which culminates at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival national event.
Students receiving nomination were Branden Fox, Wakeman; D’Sha Edge, Sandusky; Erin Paule, Sandusky; and alternate, Daniel Contreras, Sandusky.
BGSU Firelands production of “Gruesome Playground Injuries” ran from November 6-16 in the McBride Auditorium at the College’s Huron campus.
