Castalia resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Pamela Diane Brugnone of Castalia has received the BGSU Firelands Campus Direct Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Brugnone will receive $1,000 towards tuition for the 2014-2015 academic year.
An anonymous donor established this scholarship to support students attending BGSU Firelands and pursuing a degree in the field of nursing or allied health.
Brugnone is a 1986 graduate of Bellevue Senior High School.
She is a freshman majoring in respiratory care technology at BGSU Firelands.

Moriarty is a 2014 graduate of Huron High School where she was on the merit roll and honor roll throughout high school. While in school she participated in varsity track, soccer, and French Club. Huron resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Hannah Rae Carroll of Huron has received the DeBard Family Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Carroll will receive $1,079 towards tuition for the 2014-2015 academic year.
This scholarship was established by the Robert DeBard family. DeBard is the former dean of BGSU Firelands and a retired professor of Bowling Green State University. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student pursuing a degree in business or education, who is from Erie County. Financial need and a 3.0 GPA or better are preferred.
Carroll is a 2013 graduate of Edison High School where she was twice named Student of the Quarter and she was active in National French Honor Society, French Club, Key Club, Drama Club, band, and volleyball.
She is a junior majoring in inclusive early childhood education at BGSU Firelands.
She is married to Benjamin Carroll and she is the daughter of Sandy Leber.

Port Clinton resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Jennifer Lynn Purtee of Port Clinton has received the Jim and Della May Memorial Book Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Purtee will receive $480 towards tuition for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Jim May was a BGSU alumnus and an educator in Sandusky, Margaretta, and Medina school systems. The book scholarship, endowed by the May’s children, is available to an education major, or a student who plans to pursue another certification degree at the main campus. Full- and part-time students are considered. Highest preference is given to non-traditional students returning to school to pursue a career in public school teaching. Financial need is a primary consideration. Academic potential and service or activities is a secondary consideration.
Purtee is a 1997 graduate of North Royalton High School.
She is a senior majoring in inclusive early childhood education at BGSU Firelands where she has consistently been on the Dean’s List.

This award is available to students who reside in Erie, Huron, or Ottawa counties and are majoring in biological or physical science. Both full- and part-time students are eligible to receive this book scholarship.
Koelsch is a 1996 graduate of St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School.
