Vermilion resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Sarah Mae Caudill of Vermilion has received the BGSU Firelands Bookstore Book Loan to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Caudill will receive course materials for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Each academic year, the BGSU University Bookstore provides course materials in the form of book loan awards to qualified students at BGSU Firelands.
Caudill is a 2009 graduate of Vermilion High School.
She is a continuing freshman working towards an associate of arts at BGSU Firelands.
She is the daughter of Rick and Kelly Caudill of Vermilion.

Bellevue resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Morgan Taylor Norman of Bellevue has received the BGSU Firelands Bookstore Book Loan to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Norman will receive course materials for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Each academic year, the BGSU University Bookstore provides course materials in the form of book loan awards to qualified students at BGSU Firelands.
Norman is a 2012 graduate of Bellevue High School where she earned several honors and awards including an Award of Merit, the Elks Scholastic Award, an academic letter, an honors diploma, and she was on the honor roll. She was involved in Key Club, Varsity B Club, Spanish Club, Student Council, Future Farmers of America, golf, track, Catholic Youth Organization basketball, and Sandusky Life Teen Youth Group.
She is an entering freshman majoring in nursing at BGSU Firelands.
She is the daughter of Chad and Kelly Norman of Bellevue.

Oak Harbor resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Natalie Faye Eyink of Oak Harbor has received the BGSU Firelands Bookstore Book Loan to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Eyink will receive course materials for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Each academic year, the BGSU University Bookstore provides course materials in the form of book loan awards to qualified students at BGSU Firelands.
Eyink is a 2012 graduate of Port Clinton High School where she received high honors every year and was involved in Teen Pep, Leadership Council, Future Teachers of America, National Honor Society, freshmen mentoring, Friends of Rachel, golf, basketball, track, and softball. She earned varsity letters in golf and basketball. She was the recipient of the Coach’s Award for golf and softball. Her volunteer work included Champions for Children, Frosh Fest, kindergarten screening, and holiday babysitting.
She is an entering freshman majoring in early childhood education at BGSU Firelands.
She is the daughter of James and Patricia Eyink of Oak Harbor.

Huron resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Marie T. Thorne of Huron has received the Francine J. LaGrass Todd Memorial Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Thorne will receive $1,000 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.
This scholarship was established in memory of Francine J. LaGrass Todd, a BGSU Firelands professor from 2004-2006. After a career in healthcare as a radiologic technologist as well as vice president/director of human resources at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, Todd returned to teaching, which she dearly loved. She was the interim program director for the radiologic technology program. This scholarship was initiated by her family, with the support of relatives and friends, in recognition of her professional prominence, her desire to give back to her community, and her dedication in the fields of radiologic technology and education.
Thorne is a 1977 graduate of Chippewa Hills High School in Remus, Mich.
She is a senior majoring in radiologic technology at BGSU Firelands.

Norwalk resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Sierra Lee Mason of Norwalk has received the John F. & Doris E. Ernsthausen Memorial Scholarshop to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Mason will receive $3,788 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors of either Norwalk or St. Paul high schools. Academic achievement of a level promising success in college is the chief qualification.
Mason is a 2012 graduate of Norwalk High School where she earned the Senior Academic Award and she earned a manager’s varsity letter for track and field.
She is an entering freshman majoring in nursing at BGSU Firelands.
She is the daughter of Michael and Kimberly Mason of Norwalk.

This endowed award is available to full-time students who are graduates of Sandusky, St. Mary’s Central Catholic, Perkins, Huron, or Margaretta high schools.
Luzader is a 2010 graduate of Huron High School where she was active with National Honor Society, Student Council, band, and cheerleading.
She is a junior majoring in business at BGSU Firelands where she has been on the Dean’s List.

Port Clinton resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Rachel Lee Ropke of Port Clinton has received the Margie A. Woell Memorial Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Ropke will receive $883 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.
This endowed award is available to full- or part-time students. Preference is shown to students majoring in education, one of the social sciences, or one of the helping professions, such as social work, criminal justice, human services, family services, gerontology, or nursing.
Ropke is a 2005 graduate of Hilliard Davidson High School in Hilliard, Ohio.
She is a junior majoring in medical laboratory science and nursing at BGSU Firelands.
She is married to Bradley Ropke.

Bellevue resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Daniel Klein of Bellevue has received the Pat and Annie Saunders Book Award to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Klein will receive $250 course materials tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Funded by a generous gift from the Twenty-First Century Foundation, two book awards are available to part-time students from Huron County who are involved in school or community activities and demonstrate need. One award is for a traditional-age student and one award is for a non-traditional student.
Klein is a 1997 graduate of Clyde High School.
He is a sophomore majoring in radiology technology at BGSU Firelands.

Phillips is a 2012 graduate of Monroeville High School where she was on the honor roll and active in cross country, softball, dance, French Club, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and Renaissance. She earned several honors and awards including an Attendance Award, the President’s Education Award, a Merit Award, College Preparatory Honors, and Career Technical Honors.

Burrow is a 2012 graduate of Monroeville High School where she was on the honor roll and the high honor roll and she earned an honors diploma. She earned several awards including an Award of Merit, the President’s Award, the 110% Award, the Coaches Award, the Spirit Award. She was named the Student of the Quarter for Social Studies and named the Student of the Year for College American History. While in school she was active with Spanish Club, Renaissance Club, cheerleading, National Honor Society, Student Assistance Team, Teen Leadership Corps, and she coordinated the school blood drive.

Price is a 2011 graduate of Vermilion High School where she earned an academic letter, a service diploma, the WSC Scholar Athlete Award, and the Lamp of Learning Award. She was named Academic All-County and Academic All-District. While in school she was active with volleyball, wrestling mat-maids, Leo Club, Family Consumer Science Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Clothe-a-Child, Venture Crew, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society.

Huron, Ohio – Zoe Mae Pendleton of Norwalk has received the Sandusky Register Scholarship, and BGSU Firelands Dean’s Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Pendleton will receive $500 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Each year the Sandusky Register offers six scholarships, three to freshman and three to continuing students. Recipients must reside in Erie or Huron counties, the city of Port Clinton, or Danbury Township.
Pendleton is a 2012 graduate of Ohio Virtual Academy where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with an honors diploma and earned an Award of Merit. While in school she was a member of the National Honors Society, Creative Writing Club, Students Involved in Biological Sciences, the TrailBlazers Lorain County 4H Club, Jr. Leaders Club, Lorain County Horse Counsel, Lorain County Jr. Fair Board, Equine Club, and she was a guest writer for the Norwalk Reflector.
She is an entering freshman majoring in nursing at BGSU Firelands.

Huron resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Olivia Lynn Stallkamp of Huron has received the Shelley Lynn Roesch Memorial Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Stallkamp will receive $1,000 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.
This endowed award was established in 2010 by Shelley Roesch’s father, Wayne Roesch of Milan. Shelley was born in 1981 with cerebral palsy and was challenged by autism and seizures. She and her father created special memories visiting the grounds of BGSU Firelands where her father received both his associate and bachelor’s degrees. Shelley passed away in 2009 at the age of 28. The recipient of this award must be, or plan to be, a part-time student pursuing a degree at BGSU Firelands. Preference is given to a student who is planning to teach in the field of special education or a related field, or a student who is identified as a special needs individual.
Stallkamp is a 2012 graduate of Huron High School.
She is an entering freshman majoring in special education with a focus in moderate to intensive intervention specialization at BGSU Firelands.
She is the daughter of Gene and Vickie Stallkamp.
