Huron resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands

Huron, Ohio – Andrew John Rupp of Huron has received the Clarissa Ann Givens Memorial Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Rupp will receive $2,198 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.

This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Clarissa Givens, a Bowling Green State University student. This award is available to both full- and part-time students.

Rupp is a 2012 graduate of Huron High School.

He is an entering freshman majoring in visual communication technology at BGSU Firelands.

He is the son of Donald and Tracy Rupp of Huron.

Castalia resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands

Huron, Ohio – Amanda Jean Carroll of Castalia has received the Sandusky Exchange Club – Dr. Henry W. Lehrer Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Carroll will receive $1,200 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Henry W. Lehrer was a native Sanduskian and member of the Sandusky Exchange Club until he passed away on December 25, 1980. He was a community-minded individual, and was one of the early supporters of having a college established in the Firelands area. This award was made possible by the Sandusky Exchange Club and Lehrer’s family and friends to commemorate his interest in BGSU Firelands.

Carroll is a 2012 graduate of Margaretta High School where she was student of the nine weeks in history and English. She was involved in art, cross country, track, swimming, Bear Company, and Students Against Destrutive Decisions.

She is an entering freshman majoring in diagnostic medical sonography at BGSU Firelands.

She is the daughter of Leroy and Sandra Carroll of Castalia.

Sandusky resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands

Huron, Ohio – Justina R. Emminger of Sandusky has received the Sidney Frohman Foundation Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Emminger will receive $1,000 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.

This scholarship is available to students who are graduates of Erie County high schools and who are enrolled full time.

Emminger is a 2010 graduate of St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School.

She is a sophomore majoring in nursing at BGSU Firelands where she has been on the Dean’s List.

Huron, Ohio – Jeanelle Louise Harvey of Sandusky has received the Sidney Frohman Foundation Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. Harvey will receive $1,000 towards tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.

This scholarship is available to students who are graduates of Erie County high schools and who are enrolled full time.

Harvey is a 2008 graduate of Virtual Community School of Ohio.

She is a senior majoring in social work at BGSU Firelands where she has been on the Dean’s List and she has participated in the Champions Program.

She is the daughter of Jimmie and Jeanette Harvey.

Myer is a 2011 graduate of Perkins High School.

She is a sophomore majoring in psychology at BGSU Firelands.

She is the daughter of Robert and Jo Ellen Myer of Sandusky.

Young is a 1992 graduate of Sandusky High School.

He is a junior majoring in electromechanical technology at BGSU Firelands.

He is married to Emily Young and is the son of Roy Young and Susan Meredith.
