Huron, Ohio – The Lorain County Community College satellite program at Bowling Green State University Firelands College campus in Huron will soon increase the number of students admitted each year to the Associate Degree Nursing (Registered Nurse) program.

Beginning in January 2013, the program will enroll two sessions per year. Thirty-two students will be admitted in each session, with one session in January and the second session in August. This will provide an opportunity for more students to complete their nursing program in a timelier manner and will also offer students the opportunity to seek nursing education on a part time basis.

The LCCC Firelands Satellite program was initiated in September 1992 in order to provide nursing education to residents of Erie, Ottawa and Huron counties. Nearly 300 students are currently enrolled in courses to prepare for admission to the nursing program. The approximate total cost of the program is $11,000.

The LCCC Firelands Satellite Nursing Program is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
