Chris Lezotte Publishes in Two Major Journals This Fall… and a bonus!

ACS Ph.D student Chris Lezotte has been busy.  She has not one but two articles coming out with major academic journals this fall.

“Women with Muscle: Contemporary Women and the Classic Muscle Car” appears in the Fall 2013 issue of Frontiers: A Journal of Women Studies:

This is a project that was originally developed in Lynda Dixon‘s summer 2010 ethnography class, and was conducted over the summer of 2011 under Radhika Gajjala‘s supervision.

“Born to Take the Highway: Women, the Automobile, and Rock ‘n’ Roll” appears in the September 2013 issue of The Journal of American Culture

Writes Chris, “This was the paper that served as my writing sample for admission into the ACS PhD program. After being soundly rejected from one of the popular music journals, I put it aside for a couple of years until Jeremy Wallach encouraged me to participate in the Popular Music and the Automobile Conference held in Chester, England during the summer of 2012. I completely revised the paper for presentation at that conference, and since it received a favorable reception there, I subsequently submitted it to JAC.”

The promised bonus: “Judging the Bullmastiff” appeared in the July 2013 issue of ShowSight magazine!
