ABCya! free educational kids computer games and activities for elementary students to learn on the web. All children’s educational computer activities were created or approved by certified school teachers. All educational games are free and are modeled from primary grade lessons and enhanced to provide an interactive way for children to learn.

Magic Tree House: Classroom Adventures Program is a comprehensive program that allows teachers to expand their use of the Magic Tree House adventures in the classroom and stimulate kids’ interest in subjects across the entire curriculum. Using the kids love for the Magic Tree House adventures, the program sparks the kids interest in learning and stimulates their curiosity about the world around them.

Word Dynamo

Word Dynamo is a vocabulary quiz site which presents a variety of quizzes for elementary through graduate school.  Scores can be saved and points accumulated.  Words that are defined incorrectly will be reintroduced until mastery.

The Kennedy Center instituted ARTSEDGE in 1996 as its educational media arm, reaching out to schools, communities, individuals and families with printed materials, classroom support and Internet technologies.

The Theoi Project is a site exploring Greek mythology and the gods in classical literature and art. The aim of the project is to provide a comprehensive, free reference guide to the gods (theoi), spirits (daimones), fabulous creatures (theres) and heroes of ancient Greek mythology and religion.

This links to a study guide for the book Extra Credit by Andrew Clements for teachers to help students discuss the story of two sixth graders, a young girl in Illinois and a boy in Afghanistan, who become pen pals.

This extensive site from the Asia Society has a wealth of information on all aspects of education and learning.  This link takes you to the Lesson Plans for Elementary and Secondary Teachers.

The classroom lessons on TeachableMoment.Org foster critical thinking on issues of the day and a positive classroom environment. Teachers are free to use these lessons in their classrooms.
