Matthew Peter Davy (born 15 July 1989) is a New Zealand Disk Jockey, Matt at an only 18 years of age started his broadcasting career working for Coromandel FM based in Thames, followed by a brief period announcing 10-2pm on The Breeze in Whitianga. Matt than made the big move South to Ashburton, Canterbury to take on a position co-hosting the breakfast show for Port FM Local, based out of Ashburton.

Matt, one of the youngest breakfast announcers in New Zealand will be taking over the main pannelling job announcing breakfast for Port FM in late October 2008 as his co-host is leaving due to pregnancy. Matt has already become a popular voice with the locals and been featured regularly in local newspapers and websites.

Matt’s side-projects to radio include presenting an entertainment interview style programme which will start streaming online shortly, Matt and special guests travel New Zealand, visiting all major music festivals and events.. the videos usually stream between 4-6 minutes in length and involve both local and international artists. Matt’s debut in television was an advertizement recorded as part of an competition run by C4TV, Matt entered the competition which involved writing a story about drink-driving and how its affected you, Matt later confessed while on-air to making up this story during a boring computer lesson and being shocked to winnning the main prize, the only catch-Matt was to take part in a advertizing campaign which essentially involved telling the story or lieing to the nation. Other experiences with television have included September 15th 2008 when Matt was special guest on C4’s Vodafone Select Live as part of his campaign to be the Voice of the People.

Matt was only runner-up in the eventual campaign, although did acknowledge the publicity as being his main reason for entering Vodafones people of the nation promotion, which would have meant Matt presenting the peoples-choice award at the NZ-Music-Awards 2008. According to an interview with Vito Magazine, Matt stated it was the loss of the country whom will have to wait another year to see somebody outshine Dai Henwood (Presenter of the awards) and instead could expect a simple plain performance from the winner.
