Students are changing just as fast as technology is. Students are wired today more than ever. with all the advance in technology teaching and learning has changed. With the wide spread access of the internet classrooms are expanding. School days and assignments have no limit ti hours or buildings.

This affecets how students live, communicate and where and when they learn. This has vastly epanded the the way we teach and students learn. I belive this also benifits project based learning.

    You bring up a great point on how the school day is no longer the normal of 8 to 3 in a school building. Maybe with the use of technology students may not have to go to school as early or even come to the school building either. It’s amazing to even think about that concept.

    It is true that schools have become 24hr buildings through technological advances. Many classes have course websites and teachers can be contacted through the site throughout the day. It’s interesting that it has taken so long for schools to take advantage of online communication. It’s also interesting that more isn’t being done. For example, parents could be offered the option to complete parent teacher conferences through Skype if they have a hard time keeping an appointment at the school. It is interesting to think how much technology will change in two generations when todays tech savvy students are parents and making decisions about the educational experiences of their children and the amounts of technology that they are exposed to.

    It is interesting that you mention that with technology, there is not time limit or place limit on students learning. Technology has allowed students to learn when they want and partially how they want. I think what would be really neat is if the education system helped guide them even more and possibly even pursued students desining their own education. As students help design their education more, the more they may be interested in learning.
