Chapter one is mostly about the change the world has seen recently. With the new technology we have and its advance every day we have changed and are changing every day to this new world of sorts.
The book asks a question of, “who will be prepared for the new world?” And, “how can we help prepare them?” As future educators it is our job to ensure ALL of our students are prepared for the new world. As for how can we help prepare them? We need to be 3 steps ahead of them always. This includes continuing education and bettering ourselves to be able to pass on the knowledge and have them prepared and ready to go.
Project based learning is always another favorite topic of mine. Using collaboration and communication tools with educational methods will help student they need for the future. This is one reason I will always try to incorporate technology and PBKL in my classroom to help ensure that the student has the skill for the future.
