Great Websites for Kids is a compilation of exemplary websites geared to children from birth to age 14. Suggested sites are evaluated by the Great Websites for Kids Committee using established selection criteria. The committee is made up of members of the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association.

STEM Career Videos

“My (Future) Life” Video Series consists of six career modules for students in middle school and high school, and one teacher self-study video support module with links to career investigation resources and assessment strategies. Each My (Future) Life Career Video examines a career in a STEM field and includes an interview with a professional in the given career and what education pathways lead to said career. After viewing the My (Future) Life Career Videos students will have a better concept of the what they need to do while in high school to prepare themselves for a STEM career.

Word Dynamo

Word Dynamo is a vocabulary quiz site which presents a variety of quizzes for elementary through graduate school.  Scores can be saved and points accumulated.  Words that are defined incorrectly will be reintroduced until mastery.

Catherine Nash’s Resources for Papermaking, Encaustic, and Photography is a site for art teachers to explore related to sharing papermaking with students.  In particular, see the Ideas for Teachers toward the bottom of the homepage.

U.S. History: Pre-Columbia to the New Millineum by the Indepence Hall Association in Philadelphia features American history by topic or event. This site gives you a summary of the event or topic including graphs and charts. It also shares related links from around the internet on the specific topic.
