Problems with the Electronic Book Center

As of 3:22pm, Thursday, 9/23/10, OhioLINK reports that it is experiencing problems connecting to individual titles within the Scholarly & Reference Collection in the Electronic Book Center. Users should be able to connect to and search within the EBC itself, but links to individual titles, either from within the database or from the catalog, return an error message.

Titles in the American & English Literature Collection are not affected.

OhioLINK is working to resolve the problem.

Problems with EBSCO databases

We have been experiencing intermittent problems accessing EBSCO databases, especially during times of peak internet use. If you are having trouble getting into EBSCO, here are some things you can try:

If you are on campus, use the “on campus access” link in the full record for the database, OR go to OhioLINK.edu and go to the database from the list on that site.

If you’re off campus, go to OhioLINK.edu, find the database by title in the database list, and click on “more” at the end of the brief description. In the full record, you will see a link labeled “Off-Campus (Proxy) URL.” You can log in to the database using your name and BGSU ID number.

If you’ve tried these things and still can’t access EBSCO databases, please contact the Research & Information Desk and we will try to assist you.
