Celebrate National Library Week

National Library Week is April 11-15.  This week, University Libraries joins libraries in schools, campuses, and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the changing role of libraries, librarians and library workers.

Daily Events:

Monday, April 11, 2:00 p.m., Pallister Conference Room Friends Doughnuts – In commemoration of this week, the Friends of the University Libraries will serve doughnuts to our patrons so they can enjoy a treat while taking a break from studying.

Tuesday, April 12, 1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Thinkers Café, William T. Jerome Library Read-a-thonReaders from across from campus and beyond will demonstrate their love of literature by reading during this time. There will be stories for children who are visiting and international students will read literature and poetry in their native languages. Stop by and check it out or sign up for a slot to read aloud here.

Wednesday, April 13, 4:00 pm-5:00 pm, Authors & Artists, North Atrium The Friends of the University Libraries will honor BGSU faculty and staff members for their scholarly publications and artistic achievements. During the past twenty-four years, The Friends have publicly expressed appreciation to more than 1,500 BGSU faculty and staff for their important contributions to their disciplines, the culture, and the University.

Weeklong Events:

Free Popcorn– Things will be popping in the library! Fresh popcorn will be available in the various locations throughout the library.

Prize Patrol – Staff from the Curriculum Resource Center will be patrolling the library with book related questions and fabulous prizes.

Libraries Transform Bubble-Students and staff can fill out a paper bubble and display their answer on the first floor lobby.
