New streaming film: silent, independent, and shorts

Still from Cabinet of Dr. CaligariFrom now through November 3, try two new streaming video databases: Silent Film Online and New World Cinema: Independent Features and Shorts.

Silent Film Online includes over 250 silent feature films, serials, and shorts made from the 1890s into the 1930s. Watch full-length classics like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari or the silly 31-second video of Professor Welton’s Boxing Cats.

New World Cinema: Independent Features and Shorts contains over 200 international award-winning films produced since the 1990s, including about 50 shorts. Watch full-length features like The Scent of Green Papaya or the charming New Zealand short Two Cars, One Night.

Browse the films in these databases by country, genre, awards, and other criteria, or search by actor, director, writer, etc.
