What makes a good visual narrative?

January 26, 2009

To me, a good visual narrative is a narrative that can communicate ideas or send messages as well as a verbal or written literacy can do.  Although one could use a simple image to demonstrate an idea, I think that if one was trying to make a good visual narrative then they should be able to craft their visuals so that people will recieve the inteded purpose of the visual.  A bad visual narrative would be an image that is used out of context.  For example, if one was trying to talk about basketball but used images of animals, then their visual would be out of context and would not a very efficent visual narrative.
