Assignment 6 – November 9, 2010

November 9th, 2010

Part 1:  Adjusting White Balance

For this image, I first adjusted the white balance using the Auto setting.  Then, I adjusted the temperature and tint.  Finally, I used the white balance tool by selecting a gray area to fine tune the white balance.

Part 2:  Adjusting Exposure

For the over-exposed images, I took the Exposure slider to the left to get rid of the harsh light, quite a bit in some case.  In some images I also used the Recovery slider a little bit.

This time for the under-exposed images, I pushed the Exposure slider to the right.  In some instances, I also added some from the Fill Light slider.

Part 3:  Adding Impact

For most of these images, I pushed the Clarity slider up to about 40.

Part 4:  Softening Images

For most of these images, I dragged the Clarity slider to about -40.

Part 5:  Fixing Backlit Images

For these images, I used the Fill Light slider to bring back detail in the images.

Part 6:  Adding Contrast

For the first image, I just used the setting of Medium Contrast.  For the second, I slide the Highlights and Lights sliders to the right and the Shadows and Darks sliders to the left to create a greater contrast.

Part 7:  Cropping Images

Part 8:  Straightening Images

For these images, I aligned the straighten tool to the horizon lines and let Camera Raw crop it.
