Dr. Ellen Gorsevski was just awarded a grant of $1,000 from the Organization for Research on Women and Communication (ORWAC) to support her research for her book project on the Rhetoric of the Women Nobel Peace Prize laureates.

The Network Intercultural und International Communication, has cordially invited Dr. Oliver Boyd-Barrett to the bilingual conference addressing one of the most innovative research areas in the field of media and communication studies. It deals with theoretical questions concerning mediated communication crossing national borders or cultural boundaries. A closer look reveals that the theoretical basis of this research area is still unclear, heterogeneous, and fragmented. The conference aims at critically discussing different theoretical approaches and traditions and at fostering theoretical integration.

Dr. Oliver Boyd Barrett invited to appear on panel for AEJMC
At its Business Meeting on May 21, the ICA’s Division of Global Communication and Social Change presented Dr. Boyd-Barrett with a plaque in honor of his leadership during the transition to full Divisional Status within ICA. The inscription read: The International Communication Association Division of Global Communication and Social Change Honors Oliver Boyd-Barrett for His Years of Service, Dedication and Leadership during a Time of Organizational Transition.

Dr. Gorsevski accepted to participate in summer training program of the Kroc Institute for Peace
Dr. Ellen Gorsevski been accepted as part of a team of BGSU faculty to participate in the prestigious summer training program of the Kroc Institute for Peace, which will be held this June 14 -19 at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana. This is a competitive program and not all applicants were accepted, so it’s a positive step for BGSU’s Peace and Conflict Studies Minor, and it will be helpful training for all of us involved.
