Dr. Tom Mascaro’s paper, “Under Fire: The Rise of NBC News Documentary Producer Ted Yates,” has won first place in the open division of the Documentary Division of the 2012 Broadcast Education Association Annual Convention in Las Vegas. The paper was based on archival research in the National Security Council files of the Lyndon Johnson Library, as well as personal papers of Ted Yates and Jim Norling, never before opened.
