For Monday September 29th – read Chapter four of Coming of Age in Secondlife and blog about it before coming to class.

 

For Wednesday Oct 1st – have a list of tasks identified and listed so that you can proceed with the group project

 

For Friday Oct 3rd – be ready to learn what is needed to do your group  project on secondlife

**Keep elaborating on your tech artefact page

Class location – week of September 15th.

On 15th September – come to the Olscamp class with two printouts

1] a classmates blog post based on Chapter 2

2] a classmates blog post based on Secondlife explorations thus far – something that you can discuss and connect to my lecture on Friday and the reading material in Chapter 2.

On 17th September – class will be in LIB 125. Make sure you have read Chapter 3 before coming to class.

On September 19th – class will take place in Hayes 107. Make sure you have done your reading based blog before coming to class. From this week on I will be looking at dates and times of your blog post to see that you have met deadlines as I grade your activities and assignments. You have had enough time to get used to the pedagogic design and process of this class.

You will have to blog in comments sections of classmates’ blogs after class.

– once again the blogging based on reading will be due by friday and I will have the reading schedule on blackboard.

Also note – I am taking account of who is attending class and who is not when I grade. And yes you are being graded on the content of your blogs as well.

Plan for Friday’s class

Reading for friday – see what I listed for week one on blackboard. I will update the schedule over the weekend. Have the reading done and the writing assignment based on the reading done – as described in class yesterday.

This is why it is important to attend class. I am serious about face-to-face interaction – Verbal and non-verbal face-to-face communication as offline practice. I will not always translate this verbal face-to-face communication into writing – either here on blackboard or on the blog or by email.

Reminder – today all Grad Researchers will also be with us.

Deadline for posting your homework assignment on your blog as described in class (i.e. on a separate page – not post – on your blog) is today.

On Friday we will continue discussion of the homework assignment and readings scheduled for this week (see blackboard week one readings – since we did not get done last week with readings we are doing them this week). I will have you post to your blogs based on the readings as well – so stay tuned for instructions via email and on Blackboard Course Assignment section.
