Linkedin-  Web site: www.linkedin.com

 This site is for networking with professionals in any career.  You can be linked with other teachers

to help get your name in the educational world.  You can connect with trusted colleagues

and your network will grow.

 

Moodle- Web site:  http://moodle.org

Moodle is good for teachers to use as a management system for teaching online classes.

It is a safe, virtual environment that enables the student and teacher to engage with content

and with each other.  A special feature is that teachers can customize the site and can add

new modules, themes, and other special assignments/projects.

 

Drupal-  Web site: http://drupal.org

Drupal is an open-source software package that allows a teacher to manage, organize

and post information.  This is also great for social networking  and using it for community web portal.

 

Jing- Web site:  www.jingproject.com

Jing is a screenshot software that can be used to collaborate on it and narrate up to 5 min.

It is great for a presentation that a teacher needs to explain a lesson when using pictures and

diagrams that need to be explained. Another great tool for tutorials for teachers and students.

 

RSS Feed- Google ReaderWeb site: http://reader.google.com

Google Reader allows teachers to have an abundance of information at their fingertips.

The teacher can review items such as news, educational information that are interesting and

then click on it and read the whole article, etc.  It can gather and organize a teachers Google

selection of news, information, and many more into a single reader and access at anytime or

anyplace with a mobile device.

 

Webspiration- Web site: http://mywebspiration.com

Webspiration is a great tool of visual learning techniques that unleashes creativity, strengthens

organizational skills, and transforms ideas and information in knowledge.  This site may s

eem confusing at first, but once the process begins all the words and ideas can come together

and everyone will get inspired!

 

 

Museumbox- Web site: http://museumbox.e2bn.org/

This site provides the tools for a teacher to build up an argument or description of an

event, person or historical period by placing items in a virtual box. This is a great site

for history teachers to be creative with their lesson plans. Teachers can display anything

from a text file to a movie to give the students a variety of learning tools. The teacher can

also view and comment on other museum boxes submitted by students or co-teachers.

use them, and where you can find additional resources for a specific tool.  This book

is great for teachers and students alike, they both will benefit by keeping up with the

technology world.
