2. Increasing Student Engagement in the Credit-Recovery Online Classroom:
Rachel is writing about her experience as an on-line teacher, she is trying to increase graduation rates by increasing engagement in learning, especially when it applies to at-risk learners. For example she wrote personalized letters inviting them to come back to the online classroom to complete an assignment. After she sent the letters, it was considered a successful effort to get the student back into the class and completing assignments.
Rachel was considered an at-risk student herself because she dropped out of school several times. She now contacts her at-risk students personally, either by letter, emails, or phone calls to keep them on task and engaged in the course work. She has been successful with a few students and is understanding the importance of personal contact with each student to keep them involved in the course.

3. This blog could benefit all types of teachers even though it is centered around online teaching. It shows the importance of making personal contact with each student either in person or through the internet or by phone.
