Snow Days No More by Rebecca
I’ve decided I’m not a big fan of real life. I’m sure this sounds confusing. Let me be more specific. I’m not a fan of not having snow days any more. College feels like real life more now that snow days don’t really exist. Luckily, I’m going to be a teacher, so snow days will come back for me.
The hard part is deciding when to call a snow day for yourself. I have a job in Perrysburg, which is about 20 minutes away from BGSU. The roads get icy, but BGSU doesn’t usually call a snow day. Therefore, I have to make my decisions on whether or not to go to work.
I don’t have to worry about classes, because there isn’t much that would keep a person from being able to walk to class! I have to judge the roads based on what little I can see and the small weather information that I get. I called off once so far, and I’m hoping I don’t have to do it again.
My boyfriend’s university, on the other hand, has had two snow days already this semester even though we’ve had more snow. My high school has also been called off a few times. It’s hard when many people I know are off school and I still have classes to go to! I’m so ready for all the snow to be gone; I really hate snow and winter. I’m ready for spring!
