Romance Breaking New Ground: Romance Collection Added to Browne Library, November 1995
Houston, TXRomance Writers of America is pleased to announce the inception of a romance genre collection, Romance Fiction and Related Materials, at the Browne Library at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The collection is the first of its kind for romance fiction. It will include RWA’s organizational archives documenting its founding 15 years ago and following its growth into the world’s largest non-profit genre organization, specializing in romance fiction. In addition, personal correspondence, manuscripts, galleys, and other related materials will be donated by romance authors nationwide.
The Browne Library is already the proud possessor of a large collection of printed materials in the romance genre, which is one of the reasons it was selected as the permanent home for this very special collection.
Bowling Green State University’s Browne Library is an internationally known repository dedicated to acquiring and preserving primary research materials on 19th- and 20th- century American popular culture. It is the most comprehensive research facility of its kind in the United States and scholars throughout the world, as well as news organizations and other institutions, utilize its resources in developing magazine articles, books, and media productions. The Browne Library also has archives documenting mystery fiction and science fiction.
