Paper 2 blog post

Part One

My topic is should animals be used
for scientific research? I think this is a good topic to research because there
is a lot of information out there on this topic. This topic is also very important
to a lot of people, and I feel it matters a lot to people. I also think it is
important that I learn more about this topic to see if maybe my position on it
changes.

Part Two

  1. My purpose for choosing this topic is to
    educated myself and readers on this topic and try to persuade people that my
    opinion on this topic is right and we should use animals for scientific
    studies.
  2. I believe that without the use on animals in
    scientific studies we wouldn’t have the cure for most diseases, and all around
    we wouldn’t be as scientifically advanced as we are now.
  3. I. The
    issue is people don’t think we should use animals in scientific studies, but I think
    the only way to help the human population is to use animals in studies.

II. I think that scientists should be
allowed to use animals in their scientific studies.

  • Animals aid in the researched used to find
    medications that humans use
  • Animal testing helps insure the safety of drugs
  • In order to make advances in the medical there
    is no other option except using animals for testing.
  • They have also used animal testing to benefit
    animals, the medication to help with heart worm.

IV.

  • It is dangerous for the animals
  • People say it is unethical to kill animals just
    for the sake of testing a product
  • It is very expensive to use animals for testing.

    You’ve picked one of those broad, hot-button topics that I asked you to avoid. If you want to use this topic, you need to find some way to narrow it in focus. Right now it is simply too broad. Your outline needs some specificity as well; your 3 main points are so broad that I can’t give you any feedback at this point.

    How can you narrow this down? Consider choosing one of your 3 reasons and making that the argument itself.
