Writing is important because it allows us to express how we feel in a way that is sometimes easier than it would be to express it in vocals. Sometimes people are better writers than they are speakers and also people use writing as a form of some type of comfort because they are self conscious about something else.

It is important because it lets teachers know more about a student. A student could act a certain way in class, but when they go to write they could be a completely different person.

Sometimes when you write good enough your teacher might enter your writing in a contest. Then if it does well in the contest you might win then you could get prizes and money.
