I chose the essay “American’s Sleep Deprived Teens”

The main thesis from this essay was:

Today’s teens do not realize the importance sleep plays at their age, the age it which growth occurs. Likewise, parents are not aware of their teens sleeping habits and the role they can play.

The criteria I would use to evaluate this essay would be the effectiveness at reaching the intended audience, the structure of the essay, as well as the relevance of the topic.

From the goldenrod sheet I may also evaluate the development, word choice, and again, organization.
