Planning out your interview before you actaully begin, is usually a good idea to do.  There are a lot of things to think about before you interview someone.  You need to select the right person to do both the interviewing (if not yourself) as well as the right interviewee.  Probing interviews imparticular because there is more to  think about.  Once you have selected your interviewee, you need to research the topic you will be interviewing them on because you must understand and know about what it is you are asking them.  I think what we learned about the different steps and approaches to conducting a well thought out and planned interview was very helpful.
