Spend next summer in the Rockies with THE DENVER POST Internship Program 2015

The No. 1 newspaper in the Rocky Mountain region, The Denver Post, is helping shape the futures of the next generation of journalists by offering a 10-week paid internship for the summer of 2015. To do so, we are looking for talented young people who want to make a difference.

Interns work in several parts of the newsroom — as news or features reporters, online producers, photographers or graphic artists or designers. Denver Post interns are paid about $517 per week (housing and transportation to Denver are not included).

We work with Dow Jones Newspaper Fund to identify candidates for copy editing, online and business reporting positions. Please apply directly to Dow Jones Newspaper Fund for these positions. BGSU Fine Arts Center Galleries Internships

The BGSU Fine Arts Center Galleries are seeking public relations interns for fall and spring (and summer) 2014/15 to help promote several outstanding exhibitions. These are volunteer positions with a good opportunity for diverse experiences in public relations, marketing and event planning. Responses to this experience from previous interns have been very positive, and some of our past interns have gone on to positions with museums and art centers.

Public Relations Interns are responsible for working with the Gallery Director and the Arts Marketing team to compose and distribute timely marketing/public relations material about the exhibitions and events. This includes news releases, public service announcements, facebook and web updates, maintaining the online Gallery calendar and updating files of Gallery activities. Writing ability, creative thinking and initiative are key.

These are flexible positions in terms of scheduling, and have the benefit of being on campus. Interested students may contact the Gallery Director at jnathan@bgsu.edu.

Editorial Interns Wanted at Toledo City Paper

We are looking for motivated journalism interns to work in our editorial department, ages 18+. Must be pursuing some sort of degree in journalism, English, communications or a related field. Experience at a school publication or webzine of some sort strongly preferred, but not required. Must have a strong interest in music, theater, film and the arts. Should be enthusiastic, energetic, personable and reliable. Knowledge of the Toledo area and events happening around town is a huge plus!

Toledo Business Journal Seeking Interns

The Toledo Business Journal is currently accepting interns for summer and fall semesters.

Writing would be for print and online. They publish three monthly papers (The Business Journal, Development News, and Manufacturing and Construction News) and depending on what an intern would cover, the story or stories could end up in one of the three publications and/or online.

An intern must be available to come into the office, located at 5301 Southwyck Blvd. off Reynolds Road in Toledo, at least one day a week for a few hours to help with content, editing and researching. Most work can be done from home, and they can work around the student’s work, school and recreational schedules.

Applicants need to provide any news clips they’ve had published (either in school newspapers or other sources) if applicable.

Paid Communications Internship with Toledo Board of Realtors

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Communications Intern works with the communications director and CEO to produce a variety of association communications. Expert level written communication skills, social media experience and the ability to think strategically to determine the best use of social media within the association is required. This individual reports to the communications director and the CEO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create, update and maintain TBR’s social media presence, including scheduling Facebook updates
• Assist in planning, writing and managing the quarterly electronic magazine
• Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
• Update the TBR website when needed
• Take, edit and upload videos and pictures
• Manage TBR’s Google Hangout page
• Develop a plan to increase subscribers to the Association’s social media outlets.
• Write and post blog posts, tweets, updates, etc.

REQUIREMENTS
• Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong editing skills
• Knowledge of digital media and graphic design software
• Knowledge of photo and video editing software

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Market/Communications or Public Relations)
START DATE: Position open until filled, requires a 3 – 6 month commitment
HOURS: 5 – 10 hours/week, preferably twice a week in the office. Some work can be completed at home.
