Executive Producer, Sports Video Production specialist capable of independently producing from 35- 60 UT athletic events per year for ESPN3, as well as additional content in the form of game highlights and a regular Rocket sportscast, which may include many diverse elements. This person must be well versed in collegiate revenue and Olympic sports and demonstrate an ability to develop and tell a storyline though each telecast. This person will help train students and supervise them throughout each telecast.

The Technical Director is responsible for the technical operation of the telecast remote facility/vehicle and its connected remote venues for the ESPN3 initiative, and serve as the TD of the telecast (numbering from 35-60 UT Athletics events per year) as well as additional content in the form of game highlights and a regular Rocket sportscast, which may include many diverse elements. This person will oversee the general working order of all equipment, lighting, workstations, phone and internet ports as well as scheduled maintenance of all technical equipment, supervising and training student personnel relative to the positions they serve.

Tips on Writing Cover Letters

I have read enough cover letters from students to know that most struggle writing them. Not all of my students seek careers in newsrooms. But almost all of them will soon need to apply for an internship, scholarship or their first job after graduation. That’s why I spend time on cover letters in my Digital Journalism I class each semester. Besides, it’s a great way to see how well they have learned AP style and to check their grammar, spelling and punctuation.
