Paid internships
Roll Call internships involving writing for one of the more respected newspapers in America. Covering Congress and Capitol Hill since 1955, Roll Call reporters have an opportunity to observe and write about one of the true power centers. Roll Call interns have gone on to illustrious careers in journalism, and many of them end up being hired at Roll Call.

Timeline:
The internships are full-time, paid positions that generally begin at the start of a traditional university semester (i.e., early September, mid-January, and mid-May to early June) and run through the normal length of the semester (generally, mid-December, mid-May and early August).

Responsibilities:
Interns with Roll Call primarily write feature stories for the Around the Hill section, which can include book reviews, museum openings, gallery shows, films, food and events around town. In addition, interns may be asked to cover press conferences or to assist with the Heard on the Hill column (the gossip column), or to help reporters and editors with investigative tasks. The position requires some journalism experience.
