Communications Intern
Part-Time (10- 15 hours per week) • Starts ASAP Pay $15.00/hour
The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) is an international professional association with 10,000 annual members, with the administrative office located in Bowling Green. The premier membership organization in the field, SIOP’s mission is to enhance human well-being and performance in organizational and work settings by promoting the science, practice and teaching of industrial-organizational psychology.
SIOP’s communications staff works with association leadership to achieve strategic goals, raising visibility for the profession and meeting the information needs of members. We are seeking an upper-class student enrolled as a Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism major for a paid internship of 10-15 hours per week. Your work will tangibly contribute to the society’s ability to achieve its communication goals.
Working with SIOP, you will have many opportunities to gain experience and develop skills including:
- Researching and writing content for the SIOP website
- Creating social media campaigns
- Assisting with media relations and press releases
- Working with graphics and video production tools
- Using social media automation tools
- Using media monitoring and outreach services
- Measuring and reporting website and social media traffic

- Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism major
- Junior class standing (60 or more credit hours completed)
- Currently enrolled, full or part-time
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Excellent communications skills
- Strong writing ability
- Skilled with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products m
- Graphic design or video production experience is a plus

Duration: Hiring immediately; this is a three-month internship. There is the potential to extend the assignment into the summer and the following academic year.
