Photojournalists, graduate students and undergraduates can apply for a grant.
The Alexia Foundation seeks applicants for its professional and student photography grants, which aim to help photographers produce substantial picture stories that further the foundation’s goals of promoting world peace and cultural understanding.
Applicants must submit a concise, focused and meaningful story proposal, demonstrating the ability to visually execute a story with compelling images.
The winner of the professional grant will receive US$20,000 for the production of his or her proposed project.
Awards for graduate and undergraduate students include tuition for study at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse, New York, and US$500 to US$1,000 cash grants.
The deadline is Feb. 1 for professional grants and March 1 for student grants.
