The premier two-year newspaper fellowship program in the country is better than ever.
We currently are accepting applications for the next class of Fellows, who will begin in September 2016.
The program is expanded, with more opportunities for qualified journalists, including digital media producers. The application process is streamlined and completely electronic.
The deadline to apply is Monday, January 11, 2016. Finalists will participate in an expenses-paid, two-day judging process in Houston in April.
The goal of the Hearst Journalism Fellowships is to recruit, train and retain the next generation of journalists – top-notch multimedia professionals from a diverse pool of talented reporters, digital producers, copy editors, photographers, designers and graphic artists.
Fellows are full-fledged journalists expected to make significant, valuable contributions in a variety of roles and platforms. They must be versatile and have a broad range of skills.
Those selected for the program will work one-year rotations at two sites, assigned from among the Houston Chronicle, San Francisco Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, Albany Times Union and Connecticut Media Group.
Fellows receive competitive salary and benefits, including health insurance and moving expenses.
