We are looking for motivated journalism interns to work in our editorial department, ages 18+. Must be pursuing some sort of degree in journalism, English, communications or a related field. Experience at a school publication or webzine of some sort strongly preferred, but not required. Must have a strong interest in music, theater, film and the arts. Should be enthusiastic, energetic, personable and reliable. Knowledge of the Toledo area and events happening around town is a huge plus!
If you are interested, submit a resume and 2-3 writing samples, preferably published pieces, although academic papers are acceptable, to griffin@adamsstreetpublishing.com. Interns will be expected to maintain online calendars and do data entry work while also writing and generating ideas for articles (100 – 600 words). Must be willing to conduct interviews.
The internship will be unpaid. An excellent opportunity to get published clips for your portfolio while building your resume and learning how an alt-weekly newspaper functions from the inside – out. The summer internship is 20 hours / week commitment.
