The David L. Stashower Visionary Scholarships in Communications were established in January 1998 to honor our former chairman who retired at the end of 1997. The scholarship awards are a tribute to Mr. Stashower’s life-long achievements in advertising and his contribution to the growth and success of Liggett Stashower. Mr. Stashower’s commitment to grooming upcoming generations for future leadership was a hallmark of his career, and these scholarships are a way to carry on his legacy.
The David L. Stashower Visionary Scholarship Awards consist of two $2,000 scholarships that are awarded annually on a merit basis to communications students attending an Ohio college or university. The awards are based on academic achievement, faculty recommendations and other documentation to support the applicant’s request for consideration. The candidates must be seniors in the forthcoming academic year and majoring in advertising, graphic design, public relations or communications.
