Immediate Opening: Managing Editor wanted for new BGSU Alumni Newsletter

Do you have a strong eye for great copy, engaging videos, and compelling, newsworthy campus events? Do you know how to give clear direction, meet deadlines, and harness the power of others? If any of this sounds familiar, we want to hear from you!

BGSU is partnering with Fuel Leadership to develop a fresh and new weekly alumni newsletter.  We are launching this fall and are hiring a managing editor who will be responsible for managing a small team that will source, develop, and publish stories and videos that cover campus events, interesting alumni, career development, giving initiatives, and anything else current students think would interest our student and alumni communities.

Qualified applicants possess strong written and communication skills, work well independently and remotely (you can work from your home/apartment/dorm), can multi-task in a small-team environment, are skilled at concise storytelling and content creation, are curious about (but not necessarily experienced in) data analytics, have a pulse on the campus culture, and are wicked time managers (did we mention deadlines?).

If this job description sounds like it was written just for you, if you’re a full-time sophomore/junior, interested in earning $20 an hour, have a spare (and totally flexible) 10-20 hours a week, and are looking for super valuable early career experience that will add to your portfolio by graduation, then submit a cover letter, work samples, and current resume to Jenny Holaday, president of Fuel Leadership at: jenny@fuelleadership.com
