The internship begins around June 1 with flexible start and end dates. You’ll support the efforts of the Ohio News Media Association, the trade association representing more than 300 local media outlets (newspapers and websites) and AdOhio, our for-profit affiliate that sells and places digital and print advertising in Ohio and across the country. We seek students who have a passion to make a difference in the fast-changing world of local news media.
Description
Working with our marketing professionals at AdOhio, duties include the following: designing and writing sales presentation sheets and other client-contact material; market research; updating and producing promotions materials; creating and organizing PowerPoint presentations; designing display ads, selling network ads and more. Interested, qualified students also will spend a portion of the internship doing journalism-related projects and research for the parent ONMA and Ohio Coalition for Open Government.

Qualifications
Must have completed at least the sophomore year at an Ohio college or university with major or study concentration in advertising, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or other related field. Must demonstrate good oral and written communications skills. Some skill with Microsoft Office programs is required. Graphics experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign is beneficial. Understanding of media advertising methods and trends is helpful.
