NYU Journalism’s Hyperlocal Newsroom Summer Academy

Summer is right around the corner, and if you haven’t finalized your plans yet… how does summer in New York City sound? NYU Journalism’s Hyperlocal Newsroom Summer Academy offers just that opportunity, along with a chance to learn multimedia and reporting skills from top NYU Journalism faculty.

From Professors Yvonne Latty and Adrian Mihai:

“The Hyperlocal Newsroom is like no other class. It is an opportunity to be
completely immersed in journalism, with the goal of getting your story published in our fantastic blog, The Local East Village which is a partnership with the New York Times, or with our cool homegrown product, The Village Beat… It will be incredibly hands-on and you will have tons of support as we both pride ourselves on being there for our students. We will be working on all facets of journalism – from Twitter to audio slide-shows, video production, photography, and of course writing and reporting.”

So, join us this summer!

There are two summer sessions. The first, for college students only, runs from May 21 – June 29 (34 days away… there’s still time!) The second summer session, open for both college and pre-college students runs from July 2 – August 10.
