Looking for an internship in news that’s more than pouring coffee?
The summer internship program at WEIU-TV (PBS) is the perfect first step to your on-air career!
Through this paid internship program, students will work full-time to prepare, create and deliver the news on an EMMY award-winning newscast in the 84th television market.
Interns selected for the program will report to WEIU-T.V. in May for two weeks of intensive training then it’s on-the-air through August.
Positions available in the internship program include:
• News anchor
• Weather anchor
• Sports anchor
• Reporter
• Writer
• Producer
• Videographer
• Editor
• Assignment editor
• Director
The internship is paid and provides:
• Free apartment housing, three blocks from the station
• Weekly cash stipend
• A two-week intensive training session in May
• Experience working in an all-Avid news environment
• Opportunities to work on-air through August
• Training alongside a veteran news director with more than 15 years experience in commercial news
• Optional enrollment in other summer courses at Eastern Illinois University
• A great professional development opportunity and an incredible chance to build your resume tape

Application Form Deadline: January 10, 2011
Finalists will be chosen by: January 31, 2011
Finalists will be required to submit a resume videotape which will be due by: February 21, 2011
Interns selected for the program will be notified by: March 14, 2011
The internship begins on Monday May 16, 2011 and ends on Friday August 5, 2011
