Thesis: The main reason Brain Warp is not as popular now as it was in 1996, is because it did not keep up with modern times.
Mini Essay Thesis: The most probable causeses for Brain Warp’s decrease in popularity were: game consoles, or hand held games have taken over popularity, little conputer techniques, and very little prototype known as the engineering techniques.
Mini Essay: One probable cause for Brain Warp’s decrease in popularity is game consoles, and hand held games. If not each year, every other year a new game console comes out. There are numerous game consoles that are on the market. The parents purchase the game consoles for significant reasons. One which the parents know their children will not get obred when playing, more people can play, and its more than one variety for the game console. Take rock band for instance, you can be a drummer, singer, base guitar, lead guitar, and you can even battle people in your household, or online. Bop It nor Brain Warp allows you to do either of those things.
Both hand held games and game consoles have taken over popularity, another proabable cause for decrease in popularity is little computer techniques. When Brain Warp got remodeled in the year 2002, Tiger Electronics didn’t change anything but the base. They changed the regular blue base t o a t ranslucent black base. Tiger Electronics could’ve changed the catch phrases and they even could’ve added light structure so whenever youd did something to get a point it would light up. Tiger Electronics didn’t think outside of the box. It was many more things that Tiger could’ve changed to catch the consumer’s eye.
Just as game consoles, hand held games, and computer techniques were a dramatic cause for decrease in popularity the third and final probable cause fro the decrease in popularity was engineering techniques or the prototype of the game. They should’ve changed the font of the letter and numbers, thcolor of the knobs, and the shape of the knobs. When re-released in the year 2002, consumers were expecting somethi more extravagant, but they got the smae thing they got years before just with a different base as I mentioned earlier. Therefore, the consumers were not expecting to buy the same product that didn’t change much. According to Northeastern University College of Engineering, “engineering technology is the profession in which knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences gained higher education experience…the implementation and extension of existing technology for the benefit of humanity.” Tiger Electronics could have changed the structure of Brain Warp.
Counter Arguement 1: As you can see, both of the games have lost popularity, Brain Warp losing more than Bop It since Bop It still remains on the shelves. Wikipedia stated that, “Bop It’s ability to perform in such a way as to mimic engagement in social behavior that has led to the toy’s commercial success.” The decrease in Brain Warp’s modern times leading to prototype better known as engineering techniques, and computer engineering is the reason why Xbox 360, Playstation 2-3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, and all the other game consoles, and hand held games have been increasing on the market. Even though Bop It is not as popular it still continues to improve in computer Engineering, Engineering Techniques better known as the prototype and, something new is added to it every time it come out, even if it’s just the sturture of the game.
Counter Arguement #2: Both of the games has lost popularity. Brain Warp more than Bop It. Wikipedia stated that, “Bop It’s ability to perform in such away as to mimic engagement in social behavior that has led to the toys commercial success. I could second that opinion, bt was before. There ha been commercials playing for neither of the games. I can’t even recall any commercials that Brain Warp has had throughout the years. The decrease in, Brain Warp’s modern times is the reason why Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo DS, and all the other game console’s and held held games have been increasing.
1)Brain Warp is a mind grabbing game. This is a spherical game with a blue base, and with six different knobs and on every knob it has a number from the range of 1-6, and six differnt colors: Purple, white, orange, red, green and yellow. Six different people are able to play the game. When playing the game you will follow a speaker that raises your blood flow to keep playing. After every round the pace of the beat gets higher. There are six games in total: three where the player has to follow the command, one memory game that uses a combination of colors and numbers, a code buster game and a game called Pass Attack where players have to make up their own pattern.
This game was released in 1996. That year my sibling, my cousin, and I got it as a christmas present. I was only five years old when I begin playing the game. This game is a mind exploding game. It makes think quick, and it also allows you to concentrate. Any kid who knows there colors, and number are able to play the game Brain Warp. Whenever I picked up the game it automatically turned on with the saying: “Are you ready to Warp!”. During the game after every level reached it would say: “If you don’t keep up with me, you’re finished!”I believe that saying kept every players addrenaline pumping.
2)Bumble is one of the main characters from the former cartoon Transformers. Just recently in 2007 they were live in action in the movie theater. In 2009 they were live in action, again with a second part to the saga with the title of Tranformers: Revenge of The Fallen. This New toy is popular because they were popular back in 1990’s. And they keep coming out with movies to keep everyone entertained. I never watched Transformers growing up, but I remember seeing the movie on previews and I jumped for joy. Many young man know about Transformers. The bad, which is the Decepticons, and the good which is the Autobots.
The title Transformers keeps young kids mind tingling. Not only the movie, but they now have room decorations, collectible action figures, and posters. Bumblebee, which is my favorite character is now coming out with a new car called the Camero. The year model will be 2010 or 2012. This will have young teenage boys at every car dealership spending money just to drive the new Bumblebee.
3)I would actually have to ask for two. The main one I would want is the Bumblebee action figure. I stated before that I never got in depth with the Transformer cartoons, but as I got older an seen the new, and improved Autobots I became an immediate fan. Bumblebee is my favorite character.
I believe I became an immediate fan because of the action packed movies that were in theaters. Every year I make sure I see the Transformers movie the day that it comes out, and then when it comes on dvd I’m sure to purchase it. They are about to have a new Camero in the year 2010 or 2012, and I never wanted a Camero, but Transformers has changed my mind. No matter what color car I see on the road I holler: “BUMBLEBEE!”
4)I believe some toys lose the popularity because they lose the children. Transformers will come out with there third movie in 2011 therefore, catching every person’s eye young or old. Some toys even stop producing that same exact toy and move on to another mind banging toy leaving the choice to parents not to buy it, and leaving the children with the choice not to play with it.
A good example would be the new and improved game “Bop It.”They have improved that game four times eversince the year it was released which was in 1996. On the other hand Brain Warp was only improved once in the year 2002, and they only changed one thing which was them turning the base black instead of it having it blue when it was released the same year as Bop It was. Bop It is now white and on sale with a little less than 50 days to finish christmas shopping.
When you believe, what does that mean? Does it mean you give it your all for honor, trust, loyalty, and so much? I believe in a lot of things. One in which was told to me as a little girl: ” Everything that glitters is not gold.” As I master the steps of the individuals that have fallen because they didn’t have integrity, success, honor, and trust I see why I believe in everything that glitters is not gold.
As I got into sports during my high school years, a team that really touched me was the football team. They went through a lot of pain, bleeding, trust, disbelief, success, failure, and pain, but they still stuck together as a team. As I walked past the weight room doors, I heard the coach telling his players the same thing that I was told as a little girl: “Everything that glitters is not gold.” When you have everything handed to you on a silver platter, and then taken away from you on a bronze plate you fall to your kneew and ask why it happened to you as a person.
As I looked back to my season of track I noticed every year we got a new coach. We got a new coach from the beginning of my sophomore year to the end of my senior year. It took us getting a new coach just to win the city title. We haven’t won city in so long so I captured the moment of winning and it felt great. Heads turned when the girls track team walked through the door, because they were expecting us to win thirteen straight just as the boys did. Unfortunately we had another loss coming, when believing we’d win again.
For practices we were disrespected not only as individuals, but as a team. Junior year changed– and we won city. I was too hurt to celebrate as the team took their victory lap, so I sat and cried, not because we won, but because the pain that I endured. My senior year was worse. I came in believing that we would win city again. It was harder than I thought. Runners up didn’t cut the justice, and losing city my senior year was unexpected.
Everything that glitters is not gold because, everything is hidden behind closed doors. Not only does the parents close the doors, lock it, and then throw away the key. The grandparents, teachers, children, and so many more follow the same exact step. Everything that is hidden from the looks to which can be deceiving, from the crew you hang out with. I figured since I’ve ran track for so many years, it was the gold of my life, but it wasn’t
It turned out to be if it’s sparkling, or even shiny it’s not gold. It could be cubic zirconium. So I have a list of beliefs: integrity, success, trust honor, dreams, and respect, and everything that glitters is not gold.
Category 1: Audience and Purpose
In the beginning of my paper I opened it with questions that I believe that my audience could relate to. Questions like: When you believe, what do you believe in or how well do you believe. I also started by doing two shorts. One in which related to me because I experienced it during my trackseason and the other because I was just a witness.
Category 2: Critical Thinking, Reading, and Writing
During this paper my instructor had our class do a lot of writing, and group activities. One in which was peer review. As we did peer review whoever was your partner reviewed your paper and my editorial corrections on your paper. This task was not to downside anyone’s writing, but in order to be comfortable enough with your writing in order to share it. I also read the This I Believe book, many of times to choose from the best essays in which I figured were good enough to relate to them. I also did an assignment which was instructed by my instructor by responding to other classmates blogs in relation to the This I Believe book, and or essay.
Category 3: Processes
During the weeks of doing this essay in and out of the class, we had many rough drafts due, revising, editing, and reading other sources that compared to our essay. We also used narrative action. If we didn’t already have narrative action we were able to add it into our essay to give our essay a better feeling in which our readers would read.
Caategory 4: Knowlege of Conventions
During class we had to do something called peer review, when we read our essay aloud to the people in our group. After we read them aloud we would switch papers with students with in our group and they would check them for grammer mistakes, punctuation, and many more things that needed to be edited.
Category 5: Values Exploration
My role of appreciation would be being able to read my essays aloud, and letting my peers review them and make any corrections that I need.
When you believe, what does it mean? Does it mean you give it your all for honor, trust, loyalty, and so much more? I believe in a lot of things. I was told everything that glitters is not gold, because I was going through a process of changing my life in which I thought I’d be a better person. It turned out to be if it’s sparkling, or even shiny it’s not gold. It could be cubic zirconium. So I have a list of beliefs: Integrity, success, trust, honor, dreams, and respect and everything that glitters is no gold.
Dear Dawn,
Hi, I am Jasmine Burnett and I am registered in your GSW 1100 class for for fall term of 2009. I am majoring in athletic training with a minor in which I haven’t decided yet. I was born in columbus raised in Dayton the youngest of seven siblings. While in highschool I was interested in almost any and everything. While in high school I was the happy, giddy, well- maintained girl, and also the counselor’s aide, attendence, and office aide. I also stayed on the track, meaning track and field. I ran two miles everyday to keep in shape. I was well attached to my highschool. I made sure every teacher, faculty, and almost every student know just who I am, and what was my purpose while attending that specific highschool. I gave back to my high school community. I actually did 36 hours of community service for the athletic department.
