Speech #1 Reflection
I thought the first speech went pretty well. I felt comfortable giving the speech because it was all about myself. I kind of had a difficult time coming up with things to talk about at first because I do not think I am all that different from most others. I had to give a similar speech last semester using objects that describe our self which is why I brought in items to help my speech.
If I could have changed some things in my speech, I would have tried not to have any note cards. I knew the entire speech but when I have note cards in my hand I notice myself looking down at them a lot when I do not need to. Because of this, I probably did not have as good eye contact with the entire audience I would have otherwise. I practiced my speech two or three times before giving it since it was only a self-introduction. If it were any other speech I would have practiced it much more. Overall, I thought I, along with everyone in the class, did a pretty good job for the first speech.
