The Duggars were from the reality TV show 19 kids and counting. The mother and fathers names were Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar and they have 9 girls and 10 boys. They are a devout independent Baptist family who are very into purity, modesty and Faith in God. They avoid birth control and believe that God will tell them when to stop having children.

The show was cancelled in 2015 due to their eldest son Josh publicly apologizing for molesting five girls, including two of his own sisters by fondling them.

The two sisters that were molested were Jessa Duggar who is now 22 and Jill Duggar who is now 24 and they publicly opened up about being sexually abused by Josh. They appeared on a TLC show called “Breaking the Silence,” where they didn’t speak of josh but they talked about their experience and how they learned from it and how they can survive it. Jill mentions that it is “amazing to understand that there are so many people that deal with this exact same thing in their own families. So just being educated is very good.”

A few weeks ago we talked about how the majority of people who are abused, are abused by someone within the family or someone that they know or trust and this is very true in this case as well. They also talked about how most of the sexual abuse that happens is fondling and not as much penile vaginal abuse and this is a good example of that as well.
