Ch. 4 Thoughts.
I actually enjoyed reading chapter 4 because it seemed to really help me out with what i am doing with my group now. it’s interesting how details about locations vary..like how many people are around. my group is doing semiotics and at first we had a difficult time finding people to observe, but we just searched the places that we believed would be popular to find people in real life, and we did!
I thought it was interesting how the author discusses the situation where there is a new building put up in town andthe people in second life all freaked out and hated it because the building was ugly and the town was so beautiful. it’s funny that’s something that happened in second life because as we discussed in class on monday, it happens all of the time in reality as well. i could see a neighborhood of people getting mad over something that they do not believe is “good enough” to be a part of it.
Currently we are trying to find places to get freebies for our swim up bar, we have a lot of odd and random things we need in order to make it different so it is kind of a challenge to find them all. I was able to find some sites but i need to remember to bookmark them so i can find them the next time i log in!
