Nice essay, Ryan! And well-delivered. Good pacing, emphasis and pauses.
But you’re too close to the mic! Can you hear the pops as you say explosive sounds? Try moving back a little – and maybe turning down the volume a bit. You may also need to play around with mic placement, to find the best place to talk across the mic so it doesn’t pick up your “p” and “t” sounds so much. And wear headphones while recording, if at all possible. That will help you hear when you’re over-modulating and popping.
