This week, we began our introduction into the world of Educational Technology. The first, and biggest thing we were introduced to was the idea that Education based technology is “any technology that is used to support teaching and learning. We also started looking at learning theories, the most interesting to myself was the idea of learning as communication. This included the idea that multiple ways of learning are achieved through a multitude of mediums, and have a variety of factors that effect how they learn. This included the learners learning style, intelligence type, cognitive style, various psychological variables, along with other personal experiences and environmental variables. All of this can be used to help a non-traditional teacher approach the entire learning process. As well as give us things to think about when it comes to our own interactions with learning, communication, education and technology in the classroom.
