Be well, do good work, and keep in touch

I know this spring hasn’t flown by for everyone, but as I have been counting down my time here at the CRC it certainly has for me.  Today is my final day here and I want to express how privileged I’ve been to work with so many wonderful people.  What a joy it has been to serve such appreciative preservice teachers who constantly make my day when they tell me I’ve made theirs!  I’ll miss all the great resources and books, yes, but what I’ll really miss are the smiles and laughter.  I also want to thank all the student employees who put up with me as another mother and let me spout unsolicited advice with absolutely no eyerolling to my face!

So I want to go out on a little bit of Kathy wisdom which is absolutely unoriginal, yet true:

Don’t let anyone pee in your cereal.

Try everything and appreciate what you have while you have it. Learn things. Take risks. And don’t vomit on anyone, it’s not cute. -John Green

Always, always, always consider the source.

Don’t buy into the drama and beware of “friends” who like to stir the pot.

Really, being a librarian is a much more dangerous job than you realize. – Libba Bray

Be well. do good work, and keep in touch. – Garrison Keillor and me
